As the summer months are approaching it is time to start thinking about getting your body ready to be revealed in fewer clothes! To look and feel the best you can this spring season, it is vital to take care of yourself by exercising, hydrating and exfoliating.

Look And Feel Good This Spring

Exercise — Pilates

  • Practicing Pilates requires intense concentration, abdominal strength, deep stretching and focused breathing all at the same time. This can improve range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength while helping to decrease back, neck and joint pain. Individuals of all fitness levels practice Pilates and greatly benefit by gaining a greater body awareness, control and a stronger core. Pilates improves posture and personal awareness, while also helping to prevent tightness and muscle weakness.
  • Pilates teaches you how to train your mind and build symmetry and coordination in the body, states Celebrity Pilates teacher, Siri Dharma Galliano. And when you can get control of the little things, that is practicing willpower.
  • Pilates can help to manage back pain, improve balance and build strength from head to toe.

Hydrate — Fuel Your Body

Making sure you are well hydrated this spring season is essential to health and well-being and affects sleep, skin, digestion, mood, and energy levels.

Your skin requires water to function properly and if it becomes dehydrated it can become dry, tight and flaky and is more prone to wrinkling. Drinking plenty of water can help combat this.

Exfoliate — Prepare Your Skin for Summer

  • Exfoliate, protect, hydrate, feed and soothe your skin to prepare it to cope with all that lovely extra summer sun this spring season.
  • Firstly exfoliate to remove the dead and dry skin that accumulates during the winter months and then do so at least once a week.
  • Then protect and apply sunscreen to shield skin from dangerous UV rays and get all the Vitamin D you need for the winter months (see our March Newsletter about Vitamin D)

  • Finally drink plenty of water after exfoliation, to moisturise your skin and provide a barrier from sun exposure. Take Vitamin C and E supplements to give your skin the vitamins and nutrients it needs.
  • Soothe any sun-induced redness with Aloe Vera to refresh and rehydrate.
